Creative talents to shine at Deepotsav 2025 in Ayodhya

Ayodhya, Oct 9 (UNI) In a special initiative to encourage creativity and community participation, the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department will organise a series of creative competitions during Deepotsav 2025 in Ayodhya.
These include Essay Writing, Poetry, Painting, and Short Animation Film contests, aimed at providing artists, students, and enthusiasts of all ages a platform to showcase their imagination and talent
Announcing the initiative, state Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said, “Deepotsav represents the spiritual, cultural, and creative energy of Ayodhya. Through these competitions, young artists and writers will get the opportunity to express their ideas and emotions inspired by the festival of light. This effort will not only nurture creativity but also deepen people’s emotional connection with Deepotsav and its cultural values.”
Each competition’s top three winners will be honoured by a special guest during the main Deepotsav celebrations, recognising their creativity and contribution to celebrating the festival’s message of light, faith, and unity.
Participants from all age groups can take part in the Essay Writing Competition, where they will express their thoughts on the theme of Deepotsav. Essays must be between 600 and 1,000 words and can be written in Hindi or English.
Only one entry per participant will be accepted, and submissions must be original and digitally submitted in PDF or Word format. The essays should capture the cultural, spiritual, or social essence of Deepotsav.
The Painting Competition invites artists to depict the radiance and cultural vibrancy of Deepotsav through their artwork. The contest aims to highlight the festival’s spiritual, social, and aesthetic messages through colors and creativity.
Entries must be original and submitted in JPEG or PNG format. Artists from all age groups are welcome to participate.
Participants can celebrate the divinity and cultural splendour of Deepotsav through poetry. The Poetry Competition encourages expression through words that capture the festival’s light, devotion, and joyous spirit.
Each participant will submit a short video (reel) of their poem recitation, under 60 seconds, with clear audio and emotional delivery.
Poems can be in Hindi or English, and entries must be in MP4 or MOV format, free from background noise. Each participant may submit only one entry.
For those passionate about visual storytelling, the Short Animation Film Competition offers a chance to portray the spirit of Deepotsav through animation.
Participants can create short films that capture the festival’s themes of faith, celebration, and unity. Entries must be in MP4 or MOV format, high in quality, and must not include any inappropriate or copyrighted material. All age groups are eligible to participate.
Participants can submit their entries until 11:00 pm on October 14, 2025. Registration can be done by scanning the QR code or by the link.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Minister Jaiveer Singh said, “Deepotsav 2025 is not only a celebration of light and faith but also of creativity. Through these contests, we are giving our youth and creative minds an opportunity to become a part of Ayodhya’s cultural celebration. This initiative will make Deepotsav even more inclusive, engaging, and inspiring.”
By blending devotion with art and innovation, these competitions aim to make Deepotsav 2025 a festival where every voice, color, and idea contributes to the shared light of India’s cultural heritage.
